pre college a good idea?

is it a good idea to do the summer pre college program at cmu if you’re in already?
you’d be giving up your summer and a lot of $$ but i guess you’ll get oriented with the campus and earning credits.

i could also spend the summer taking classes at my local community college but im not sure what CMUs transfer poicy is for comm colleges

hm there’s also a summer program at CMU West in CA where I live, i guess that would be a good option for me too.

It’s unnecessary to do any sort of summer classes, unless you really, really want to. If you’re in MCS, it might be a good idea to take physics, bio, or chem during the summer sometime, but not now. (I hear that it’s difficult to get all the classes in.) You would want to check with CMU about transfer credit. I suggest spending time with friends you won’t see much more of, and trying to get a job so you have some spending money at school. Have fun!
