Hello!
I was worried whether the pre college camps were anything like college because I did not have a fond memory of it. I came a day late and by that time everyone already made friend groups 
is it very much like college?? I suppose I am really asking: how easy is it to make friends?
No. At most colleges, there are a few days ahead of the start of the year for freshmen to meet and get used to the campus. Some colleges have summer programs, too. They have lots of activities specifically to help students get to know one another. Also, if you live in a dorm, you will have a roommate or suite mates and that is a great start on a friendship. You have lots of classes with lots of people and you are together for a whole semester, so you end up with class friends, as well. Many classes will have group projects. There are also lots of extracurricular activities to choose from. If you are a bit shy, joining a club, even a silly one like cheese club, is a fun way to meet new people.
