I was curious if there is a way to search for summer college programs that support students who are visually impaired or if anyone knows of any.

The student I am working with is in 10th grade, female, is not exactly sure what she wants to do in the future other than attend college, and has a degenerative eye disease that will probably end with total blindness. Right now she has been dealing with the social issues and acceptance of her disability. She is incredibly intelligent and since up until recently has refused any supports and has seen her academics suffer because she has not been able to keep up the pace since reading is challenging. We are hopeful that with the use of some technological supports she will find that she can be back at her accelerated pace. Anyway, I am looking to find options that will help her to see the outside world, so to speak, and grow past her disability or at least accept what it is and know that she is still an exceptional person.

Any ideas or leads would be greatly appreciated.
