I have a really dorky question…

Since LA uses the Napoleonic Code while the rest of the country uses the Common/Codified Laws system, will my taking the Pre-Law track be affected?

Sounds like a question for Concerneddad.

Wow. Sounds like a call for a Super Hero!! And here is the answer: because there is NO real pre-law track, there is no way you can go off the track. To get into law school you only need two things: A high GPA and a high LSAT score. While practicing law in LA is certainly different, there is nothing different you need to do in your undergrad program.

No. Lots of people come to Louisiana after studying law elsewhere, and they find that the Napoleonic Code, in large part, gives different (more exotic) names to concepts that they have already learned. It can be picked up by self-study or attending a Bar Review Course, although it is fine with Louisiana lawyers if the rest of the country thinks it is mystical. Anyway, it should make no difference to your pre-law planning.
