What pre-med activities can one do on campus? Is there any physician shadowing available? Do most pre-meds and/or MD/PhD students stay on campus over winter and summer breaks?

Premed stuff:
- Volunteering at Cayuga Med Center: email Cal Wood, the volunteer director
- Volunteering at Gannett (the student health clinic)
- The Cornell Mentorship and Externship programs will pair you with physicians to shadow, but you can always look for physicians on your own, of course
- A lot of premed and health-related student organizations
- Loads of non-medical volunteer and employment opportunities

How far is Cayuga Med Center from campus and how can i get there?

For the “The Cornell Mentorship and Externship program”, where does this program take place, on campus?

Cayuga Med is a short bus ride away.

The programs just pair you with a physician to shadow. You will still be shadowing at their offices and/or Cayuga Med.

You can also be an EMT, WFR, or work for the Fire Department. If you work for the Fire Department, you can get free rent.
