I am president of the pre-med/allied health club currently at my college. I am having trouble thinking of good ideas and activities to the club besides having current medical school students/ and doctors share their experiences with us. Can anyone throw out a few that would be interesting?

You really couldn’t think of any pressing issues currently facing American doctors and patients? Really?

What about diversity and cultural sensitivity? Read the book “The Spirit Catches You” or watch the documentary “Southern Comfort.”

What about issues surrounding access to health care? You could have a discussion about the current Congressional debate over the funding and expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

I hope you can think of more.

“The Spirit Catches You” would be a great book for everyone to read and discuss. Talk about how things went wrong, what could’ve been changed, etc.

WOW, just finnished reading “the spirit catches you”.
I go to UC Merced (Merced of course being the city in which the book takes place in) Im amazed that people outside merced have read that book :x
