Pre-med college selection?

Does anyone know which school is more known for the sciences, especially those pertaining to the pre-medical curriculum? I can’t decide if I should go to SLU or GMU.

I want to know the answer to this question too. I know that medicine is best offered at:

 • Johns Hopkins
 • Harvard
 • UCLA

OP–You asked the almost same exact question last year.

The excellent answer you got then still applies:

^if you have unlimited financial resources, pick any UG you personally wish. I would not recommend any of the 3 to a “regular” applicant, they are very expansive. If plan is to go to Med. School I would advise an applicant with “regular” financial means to attend the cheapest (for him/her) UG that mathes his/her personality and WIDE (not only academics) range of interests to avoid misery for the next 4 years.

However, I do know at least one person who is on full ride at JHU. That is why I said pick up the cheapest for YOU.

Other than above, NO UG will prepare you for Med. School. You are there to get your degree, complete Med. School pre-reqs and the most important - to grow personally. While doing all of the above, you have to maintain very high GPA (as close to 4.0, as possible, preferrably not lower than 3.6), engage in medical ECs as well as pursue some of your personal interests, prep. for MCAT and recieve a decent score and make sure to enjoy your life. None of it is possible if person is miserable at the place.
