I’ll be applying ED to Duke this November, and I plan on majoring in neuroscience as a pre med (if I get in of course). How hard would it be to double major in international comparative studies? I want to be a neurologist, but if medical school doesn’t work out I’d love to work in international diplomacy or business, or work for the UN or something. Would it be feasible to double major in these completely unrelated subjects?

^or maybe major in neuroscience and double minor in two languages

One more thing haha sorry - how language intensive is the ICS major? I want to be fluent in the language I choose for the major (probably french), so the more language classes the better.

It will be challenging double majoring and also being pre-med. Nevertheless, it is possible to do so. It’s going to depend more on YOU (time management skills, self-discipline, etc.) than on the school. Here’s a link to the ICS program website: [Duke University | International Comparative Studies: Home](http://internationalcomparative.duke.edu/). Here’s the page that lists the lang requirement: http://internationalcomparative.duke.edu/academics/about_the_ICS_degree/major_minor(you’ll need 4 courses in the same language).

I suggest in the future that you do some research before asking your questions. We are here to help you out, but your language question probably could have been easily answered by typing “ICS Duke” on Google and clicking the first link (which is what I cut and paste into this box).

Here’s the correct link: [Duke University | International Comparative Studies: Major/Minor](http://internationalcomparative.duke.edu/academics/about_the_ICS_degree/major_minor)
