Pre-med programs

Got admitted to USF(Florida) honors. If I can go here for almost free, how does this compare to doing Pre-med at any of the following state universities
FSU
UF

Start here:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pre-med-topics/1122176-bluedevilmikes-ten-step-guide-picking-premed-school.html

You have to tell yourself how they compare to you personally. Go where your heart leads you. Being free is a great benefit though if Med. School is in plan.

you should pick a pre med school that fits you best as a student. Although some factors you may want to factor in are the class sizes, the research and volunteer opportunities, money

^Honors usually means small classes, much smaller than regular. Research and volunteer opportunities are everywhere. These positions are easier to obtain at your college (whichever you end up going) than outside of your UG. D. did both during school year, long time commitments, both lasted for 3 years. Her state public UG university did not even have a Med. School and still had lots of Research opportunites that were easily available. One more aspect is important - great pre-med advisory and committee. They play a major role in Med. School application process.
However, frnakly we did not know any of it when D. was choosing. She just choose the place that she loved the best and it has worked out for her. The rest was discovered later. She was there also on full tuition Merit and it was important.

You should pick a school where you’ll be a strong student so you’ll end up with a high GPA.

D. has been saying that it is NOT the school but what YOU do there.
If you rely on your hard working ethic, I guarantee that you will do good everywhere. Adjustment will also be required at any place. No college is teaching at the HS level, not CC, not any other. Kids who do not realize that and do not adjust to the higher standards will get to trouble. No genius is required, hard working is absolute must absolutely everywhere.
