Pre-med req's at a CC?

Is it inadvisable/not permissable to complete certain pre-med requirements by taking the classes at a community college? I don't mean like cheating the system by taking orgo or whatever to get an easy A, but I'm currently in between HS and college, and I really don't want to waste time in college with tedious intro-level classes (ESP. general chemistry). I'm definitely planning on taking higher-level science classes (possibly majoring in bio), so I don't know if they take that into consideration?

I think that's fine. I talked to a CC Dean, he joked that patients don't care whether their doctor went to Harvard or Kalamazoo, just as long as they can do the job.

Yes it's true that patients don't care if their doctor went to harvard or kalamazoo per se, but taking premed requirements at a community college will not be the best thing necessarily. med schools usually want to see grades for premed courses from your undergraduate college or one of equal or greater difficulty. I mean, if you take gen chem at a CC and then go on to take and do well in other more advanced chem classes, it may not hurt, and if you only take one or two classes there it may not matter, but still, you have to be careful, med school admission is very competitive, even to state med schools, so you want to do everything you can to get an edge and not do anything that may not look so great.

there's a big diff between a CC and a state college.
