Pre-Med to Foreign Exchange Broker/Trader

I have always thought of myself as a premed but lately I have been thinking of doing something involving business. I have looked into different careers in business and I have come upon a foreign exchange broker. I would be able to use my skills in japanese(have been taking for a year already) and work with money. The thing is I haven’t really prepared for a degree in in high school and have all my classes are tailored to a degree in medicine.

I most likely will be going to Michigan State this fall. The thing is from what I have been reading what school you go to is very important in the business, a lot more important than the medical field. I fear that Michigan State isn’t a good enough school to be competitive in the business field. Do you think I should try to transfer to a better school after freshman year, or stay at Michigan State.

The thing is I have read a little on foreign exchange brokers/traders and proficiency in another language is highly valued and a degree in economic, statistics, mathematics, or an M.B.A is high valued. Study abroad is also considered invaluable. The thing is Michigan State has a VERY good japanese program and has the largest study abroad program in America, so my decision on whether to stay here is a little bit harder. I was most likely planning on double majoring in economics/japanese, but if this isn’t a good idea please tell me.

And, what do you guys know about becoming a foreign exchange broker. What does it all entail. How long should you go to school. How much do they make. From what I have read so far the job entails the buying and trading of currency among other things. But extra information on this job would be invaluable to me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And I appreciate your time in answering someone that in fact might be asking dumb questions.
