pre-med

I was recently admitted to University Park. I was looking over some majors offered and I’m stuck between biochemistry and forensic. I plan to apply to medical school, but I’m not really sure if a certain major would help or hurt. I like CSI and I think forensic science would be a good step towards a career in government if med school doesn’t work out.

Pick one that suits your interests, because both of them should prepare you for med school. In addition to the majors in Eberly, think about some of the majors in the college of ag like toxicology and immunulogy & infectious disease. And even if you aren’t in the pre-med major, talk to the people in the department to get advice about what to do to get into med school.

Your adviser would be a great source of information. If you haven’t gone through FTCAP yet bring this up during your individual meeting.
