Hello, I’m an junior in high school who’s thinkin’ pre-med.

So is it a track program, or is there an actual designated major? Is is competitive? From what I understand, science is one of McGill’s strongpoints.

Hello! It looks like you’re from Massachusetts so you can’t actually join the pre-med program at McGill. It’s only for Quebec residents - I know, it sucks. I’m still doing “pre-med” I guess but on my own. I’m going to be taking all the pre-med courses and taking the MCAT but I am choosing my major.

It’s probably a bit early to be thinking about dorms though I’m planning on going to McGill next year so if you want you can ask questions. If you search on YouTube, some guy made a tour for all the rez at McGill.

I would say biochemistry or physiology would prepare you well enough for med school or at least for MCAT. But, those two departments are huge and the student-to-lecturer ratios are pretty high. As a Chemistry major myself, I would highly recommend you to take Chemistry with a bioorganic option.
