I am surprised the aunt didn’t ask for an allowance and a portion of estate is to be hers.
My good friend’s mom married a guy who is not going to leave anything to her when he passes away. He is leaving everything to his kids. The mom is 10 years younger than the guy. My friend said she is going to have to take care of her mom when this man passes away. This is a case where they are already married for 30+ years, much longer than the first wife.
That’s a horrible story, notelling! Can’t recall the specifics of the outcome of the Marla Maples - Trump pre-nup challenge, but IIRC she got a few million. Not so for Anna Nicole Smith or her estate from J Howard Marshall’s estate. I hope your aunt gets good legal representation.
Some of these situations sound illegal. Most states expect you to share the money after certain number of years of marriage if you get a divorce, no matter the prenup. Prenup projects what was an asset before, not after.
