Pre-Orientation for Transfer- worth it?

Hey, I am debating which orientation session I should register for and understand that we have the same chance of getting classes no matter which session, but I still want to go to the earliest session just in case.

With that being said the pre-orientation sessions are later on and offer:

  1. Hearing from current UCLA transfer students about their transition
  2. Additional information about your major, choosing classes and the academic environment at UCLA - this will be additional time to focus on and prepare for the academic advising and enrollment in classes that will occur the next day.
  3. Campus tour including stops at your major department and hearing about campus services and urban legends
  4. Tour of Westwood highlighting how students use the village every day
  5. Dinner and social activities to connect with other new students and begin building a strong social network

As someone local who can easily find other transfers to speak to through this site and Facebook the second point (Additional information about your major, choosing classes and the academic environment at UCLA - this will be additional time to focus on and prepare for the academic advising and enrollment in classes that will occur the next day.) is the only one that interests me.

In your opinion is it worth it to go to pre-orientation? Do you really have the same chance of getting classes (with good teachers) no matter the session you go to?

Thanks!
