So i got accepted to a prestigious summer science program (not SSP). Should I email the instructor and ask if there is anything I should do to prepare for the program like reading etc?

Or, will asking this make me sound a bit geeky? My aim is to just be prepared for the nanotechnology program and get an amazing letter of rec. from the instructor as well…

Should I email and ask the instructor or no?

I say email him. As long you don’t pester him you’ll be fine. You just want to be prepared for the program. It’s not like you’re asking some stupid question.

My sister is saying the same thing…and she just thinks this will impress my instructor and so she will give me a good rec.

But, I am hesitating. I am not the really geeky type of person. I dont want to give the instructor the feeling that this kid is just another over-achiever.

I did it last summer and it was helpful for me
not sure if it’ll help for rec though
