Pre-registering for football tickets - anybody have a link for that?

I’d buy the tickets first before heading over. I imagine many will be doing the same. Just be sure to pre-register this week to help speed up the process on the 1st.

Because everyone logs on at the same time for tickets, it may take several minutes to complete the transaction. Last year, my son was in Chicago when ticket day came up. So I had to log on and purchase them. It took about 40 minutes by the time I completed everything. This year, as a second-year student, he buys his tickets later in June.

If both parents are going to Bama Bound, then one parent can check in while the other does the tickets.

You can get internet while at The Ferg.

Heck, I had to buy tickets once in the emergency room at the hospital. You have to do what you have to do.

HA! M2CK, that is true Crimson pride :)

Is there access to wireless without a password at the Ferg? That’s good to know.

^^^
When I recently used resnet at the ferg, I used one of my kid’s crimson email address and password. It’s ok to use it on more than one computer.

Need clarification - the June 1 date is strictly for the student package tickets, right? If we want tickets for a game we need to wait until the July 2 date (if any are available).

^^^Correct about June 1. According to what I saw on Tide Pride, individual tickets, if available, go on sale July 12. On the other hand, I’ve been told by the ticket office over the phone that such tickets will go on sale July 1. Stay posted.

Tickets can always be purchased at a premium through brokers such as this: [Alabama Football Tickets - Alabama Crimson Tide Football Tickets at StubHub!](http://www.stubhub.com/alabama-football-tickets/?gcid=C12289x486&keyword=1483820&creative=3802598631)

FWIW, StubHub is an official sponsor of Alabama Athletics.

I think though that tickets for parents weekend might be available on June 1st as well. See [Family Weekend](Family Weekend - Parent & Family Programs)

Thank you. Have a couple of uncles who are interested in “visiting their favorite” nephew (although they all seem to want to go in the fall). I did see the mention of about parent’s weekend, unfortunately with all the traveling it may be a little to soon for us to return. I’ll check to see if one of the uncles wants to be his “parent”.

Man, looks like we’re going to be doing a lot of multi tasking during Bama Bound.

socal,

I’d look at the Miss St game if I were you. It’s the best chance to get decent tickets at an affordable price as well as seeing a “decent” opponent. There may not be very many (if any) hotel vacancies right now, but I imagine a few will open up. Book as soon as possible though since you can always cancel at a later date.

The out of conference games other than Penn St will be blowouts and not very entertaining. Penn St game will cost you a small fortune (trust me, that’s the game I’m going to) and getting a hotel room will be next to impossible at this late date.

Florida will be the same as Penn St.

Ole Miss is homecoming. Not a bad game to go to at all, but tickets will run you a bit more than Miss St.

auburn is the day after Thanksgiving and tickets will be expensive.

Look on ebay, Tider Insider ticket exchange board, or the Bama Online ticket board for tickets before using stub hub. Stub Hub and the other ticket brokers charge outrageous fees.

Wow thanks for the insight !!! We’re new to this and although uncles are used to handling UCLA game situations being OOS we also have to take into consideration hotel accomodations, not something we’re used to considering. I better get everyone doing some serious talking.

Thanks for the tip on the brokers, NJ. I looked at StubHub and I’m not quite sure I’m ready to liquidate my assets for a decent seat just yet.

Yeah, Alabama football games are major events and planning is essential for out of state residents.

Hotel rooms are usually booked many months, if not a year, in advance. Some rooms do come open as cancellations occur. Just about all hotels increase their rates substantially on game weekends, which is something you sometimes can avoid by booking rooms in the fall for the following year. Some people choose to stay in Birmingham and just drive to campus for the game. It’s not as convenient as staying in Tuscaloosa, but you have more dining options and usually better room rates.

Here’s a site that I check often and is very convenient for finding rooms in Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas on game weekends.
[Hotels near University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa, Alabama](25 Hotels near University of Alabama Tuscaloosa, AL | HotelGuides.com)

If using ebay to procure tickets, just be sure to check the sellers feedback rating. There are also a few professional scalpers on there that are reliable but charge quite a bit more than just regular private sellers.

Take a look at the seating chart on rolltide.com so you know what you’re getting before buying. West side seats are more desirable than east side seats for day games as you’ll be out of the sun.

My order of preference is west side lower, west side upper, east side lower, endzone lower, east side upper, and endzone upper. But that’s up to personal preference and others may prefer differently.

For those of us that are current students, watch your email for instructions on ticket purchases. The season tickets are $41 apiece ($35 + a $6 handling fee) and will be billed directly to our student accounts; the link to purchase them goes up on MyBama sometime in June, depending on your credit hours.

On a side note, for those of you in “super-suite” housing, friends/family can possibly crash on your couch if you can’t find a place to stay in the Tuscaloosa area. Last fall, I ended up letting a friend from home that was visiting use my couch over the LSU weekend. It’s an inelegant solution, but a viable one, I guess.

FYI, my son received an e-mail from UA correcting the webpage to go to in order to buy tickets June 1 (I imagine the rest of you received this as well, but in case you didn’t here’s the pertinent info).

Exactly!! No guarantees! Even if you try at 8am, you may be trying when 5000 other students are trying.

So Missississippi State tickets are easier to come by? I was going to encourage son to get the package with Missississippi State, but he wants the Auburn package. (Yes, this is my son, could have picked me up off the floor when I heard this).

Anyway, we have lots of Missississippi State family and really want to treat them and go to this game. Thanks for the heads up. We’ll try to get tickets for the crew and make hotel reservations early.

When do tickets go on sale for the Missississippi State game?

Oh, and Penn State was a big appeal for that package, too. I mean, the chance to see the Nittany Lions, for us old fogies, that would be a treat!

Florida, as a former Cane, I will really enjoy rooting against the Gators!

So Missississippi State tickets are easier to come by? I was going to encourage son to get the package with Missississippi State,

Good heavens…that’s too many s’s

;)

Remember, the Auburn game is the Friday after Thanksgiving. I would bet that there will be tickets available, because there will be students who will go home and not return until that Sunday or Monday.
