I know that if a class isn’t offered in one’s CC, it’s ok and it won’t affect negatively towards you but what happens if the class is offered every other semester? A class that I need is broken into two parts and by the time I even get to the first part, the rotation isn’t good because the school will only have the second part. Although I am planning to take it in a different CC, it’ll be a longer drive and I was wondering if the small chance I don’t take it, how much will it harm me?

The more pre-reqs you have, the better… regardless of what’s offered at your school. And I think they’ll count that as your CC offering the course, even if you couldn’t get your schedule lined up to take both parts there.

How much it hurts you will depend on the UC, the major, and how important the class is for your major.

Yeah, the cycle doesn’t mean anything. If it’s offered there, the UC will count it as being offered. You need to make the drive. FWIW, I have attended 5 separate CC’s to attain all of my prereqs, in order to insure I’m competitive. I’m the exception of course, but it’s important to understand that there are some like me out there who will make the sacrifice.

By the way, without knowing the class, we can’t make an entirely accurate assessment if it will hurt you or not. Some classes hold more weight than others with UC admissions.
