Pre-screen recommendations

To the original poster - unfortunately, each school does seem to have their own desire for the prescreen. I would certainly continue to check out the videos and advice mentioned here. Most schools seem to simply want a clear credible sound and visual, however you obtain that. A couple years ago for our son we used a good quality digital camcorder and live accompaniment for the vocals and then recorded his monologues in our family room with good lighting and a plain background. Both schools wanted separate uploading. Both were accepted and he passed both. I will caution you to be certain about accompaniment. Some schools, at least a couple years ago, do ask for live accompaniment. Many schools are quite specific about slating, uploading, full body shot, etc. If you are unsure, don’t be shy about contacting the school with your questions and feeling confident you are proceeding as they wish. Good luck to you.
