Interesting, but not surprising, article from Georgetown center for career in the workforce
I thought this was interesting:
The largest projected shortfall of workers at all levels of educational attainment—and the largest by far for workers with a bachelor’s degree or higher—will be in managerial and professional office occupations, particularly in management jobs (2.9 million).
That fits with something I have been thinking about, how it seems fewer college kids I know about are interested in just ordinary management-track jobs in ordinary companies (as opposed to finance type stuff, often specifically with financial firms).
And then there is the recurrent argument that college may be unnecessary…. 15 years after skipping college to launch 3 startups, I believe the taboo around questioning higher ed is holding an entire generation back
But what about this?
