Predicted SAT Scores v.s Actual Exam Scores

Has anyone ever felt that they did pretty well after the SAT but received scores that say otherwise or vice versa?

It is difficult to assess how well you performed on the SAT after taking it in person. It also depends on a person’s expectations of how well they performed. Some students may feel like they did well even after guessing on 5 questions because normally they would guess on 10 questions. Other students may feel like they did terrible after just being unsure on one question. You should expect to score in the range of your previous SAT score if you have not studied since then.

If you have studied or have completed several months of relevant school work since your last SAT, you should expect an increase in your score.

If you have taken practice tests, you should already have an expectation of your scores. They should fall around the range of your practice tests depending on your luck and your performance on that day. Make sure to use reliable practice tests from accredited sources for a more accurate score estimate.

Personally, when I take the SAT, I aim for a 1600, therefore unless I am pretty sure that I got every single question right, I won’t feel like I did well. So basically, I never feel like I did well, only that I felt “okay”.

Your predicted score should be close to your actual score in most cases. I usually score within my expectations.
