<p>Does anybody know like what they base it on? Because I am excellent in academics and am taking almost a whole year to prepare for my PSAT. I am a 9th grader in the IB program applitng for 11th grade. I haven’t gotten any special awards in sports really, just played on recreational teams. I don’t play any instruments (due to the fact that they are not favored in my religion). But will the no Sports awards and no instrument hurt my application???!</p>

<p>I am in no position to determine wether you have a chance to get accepted or not, I am only applying to 9th grade, but I think it definately hurts you application, but I wish you the best of luck and I hope you get accepted anyways</p>
<p>I wouldn’t worry about it at all. No school can blame you for not playing an instrument because of religion, and the fact that you haven’t won any sports awards just means that you probably weren’t presented with the opportunity. I think you still would have a good chance, because these don’t matter too much.</p>
<p>Katester22, there are many parts of your application, but if there is no instrument or sport, I think that degrades you at least a bit !</p>
<p>The person plays sports, she just doesn’t have any awards for the sports she plays. I would otherwise agree with you, that if you had no sports, and no instruments it would lower your chance of acceptance.</p>

<p>Oops sorry I didn’t mean to repost that. But yeah I play tons of sports! Just haven’t had any awards because I live In a really small town. I’m trying and hopefully I will have some awards, but not as many as the other kids will have/:</p>

<p>But I also have like other hooks, I speak thre languages, and am learning Spanish. I’m paying in full. I’ve received several academic awards and have had straight a’s and go to one of the best IB schools in the country…</p>
<p>Oh I’ve played rec league soccer 4 years, tennis, I surf, I’ve done tae kwon do, horseback riding, dance, and a little bit of track. Next year I will be doing cross country</p>
