My daughter is currently at Hotchkiss, and she tells me that the football team is “insanely good.”

Yeah Hotchkiss has the best prep school team by far. Their closet rivals this year among the HEADS schools was deerfield (deerfield beat Exeter by the way), anyways Deerfield lost to Hotchkiss 40-20. Hotchkiss also had numerous blank sheets including their final game that won them the New England Championships, they won that game 27-0.

My mom won’t allow me to apply to hotchkiss!! But ya I figured next best team was A/E…but after the deerfield coach talked to me and my dad he convinced me their gunna have a great team next year. The thing is I don’t really like their school in general lol.

But since it seems like no one can compete with hotchkiss anyway it won’t really matter.

thats the real 208 espn power rankins. He’s more around 50 if you go by that…his rank is 90. But I’m sure hes good. Im a point guard also…ranked in the state but not nationally. Hopefully by AAU season tho…on one of the top teams in the nation for AAU (well last yr I was, we’ll see if I make it this yr :P)

Well normally the next best team would be A then D and I have no idea who would win between E and S.

So if you were to rank the schools in terms of football it would be H A D E S

St Pauls SUCKS at football. They were my number one choice for a long time…until I heard that lol. I know im basing alot of stuff on sports but all these schools are so great whos to say all of themm arent “fits”.

I really like andover overall…when I heard they lost to exeter I was disappointed.

True. They are minute differences between these schools in all fields ranging from academics to sport but overall they are all equal. Thats why they are the HEADS. Now ofcourse you will have outliers like Hotchkiss having the best season out of any school of all time last season (they were NE champs in football, soccer, field hockey, and volleyball) but thats not to say that the other schools are not fits. After all you dont just decide on sports its a combination of things. If you were just interested in soccer for instance you would be better of getting a flight to manchester united’s academy rather than playing for Hotchkiss. However if your main interest was football or soccer then your best fit would probably be at hotchkiss. But then again you have many interests to consider not just sports unless ofcourse you are dead serious about taking your sport to the next level and get recruited for college etc.

Exactly…actually one of my pretty good friends went over to spain to Real Madrids little soccer academy. But ya…its al really confusing now. But once you know exactly what your choices are im sure it will become really easy. Especially once they start selling themselves to you (other than the coaches) the coaches are ALWAYS trying to sell themselves lol.

Hey Guys,
How would you rank these leagues in order from best to worst. highest level of competition & talent-wise, which are the best leagues?

ISL-bb&n, milton, lawrence, belmont hill, st georges, st sebastians, noble&greenough, middlesex, roxbury latin, brooks, groton, governors, st marks, rivers, st pauls, thayer

Fairchester-klht, hopkins, brunswick, rcds, hamden hall, kingwood oxford, hackley, horace mann, st lukes

Colonial- Suffield, Cheshire, westminster, canterbury, berkshire, williston northampton, gunery, wilbraham&monson academy, more, tabor

Mid-Atlantic Prep- blair, hun, lawrenceville, hill, mercersburg, peddie

Evergeen Northeast-proctor,tilton,pingree,holderness,hyde,kents hill,hebron

Evergreen Southwest-pomfret, kimball union, portsmouth abbey, new hampton, hyde, dexter, vermont academy

nepsac freelance- deerfield, phillips acad, exeter, choate, cushing, nmh, worscester

thanks for any and all responses

Nepsac freelance in the best like I think…but Erickson has the best team
ISL is competitive i guess…

mpicz

how would you rank (#1-3) the fairchester, colonial, and evergreen northeast leagues??

thanks for your response.

Let Fun is Fun comment on this. He actually has seen most of the leagues and follows it actively. He is as professional as they come when it comes to prep school football. Lets see what he has to say. Personally I HIGHLY doubt that nepsac is the best league - it just has the most famous schools in it.

Both Hotchkiss could beat every team in nepsac.

TP could beat all of them.

Salibury would loose to D, A and possibly E but it could probably beat out most of the others.

BUT lets wait for Fun is Fun’s judgement on this issue.

According to Max preps Erickson has two teams in the top 5 (Hotchkiss - 1 TP - 5) the highest ranked team from Nepsac is deerfield at 7 .

Not sure but here are the rankings overall for all the prep schools at football:
[MaxPreps - America’s Source For High School Sports… - Rankings](http://www.maxpreps.com/national/football/rankings.aspx?gendersport=boys,football&state=ps&urpath=,list)

Prez. I’m simply going by records and stats that I’ve seen on max preps…

4/7 ranked in top 25, for prep schools. Numbers don’t lie.

4/7 also for erickson…no one else is even that close. ISL just has a millions schools in it.

5/16 for ISL

So then going by that since the 4/7 in Erickson are ranked higher than the 4/7 in max preps that would suggest that Erickson is the best league followed by nepsac. According to max prep’s data.

The following are calculated from maxpreps data:

The average team in Erickson is position out of the 4/7 is 10th place.

The average for Nepsac is 13.25 th place. A full 3 places behind. So according to that data Erickson is the best league followed by nepsac. But both are good leagues.

The data speaks for itself. And I do know what max preps is, have known for ages.

Well its not my data its max preps data…if you haven’t heard about them then you probably don’t play sports. Most trusted sites for highschool sports info…

And yes your correct thats why I put a “I think”, then went and did further research. Theres not much else to say, I mean pure data is pure data. The numbers don’t lie, while one league may be consistently stronger than th other Erickson and Freelance were the best in football for the past yr.

I agree, I apologize if I seemed abrasive it was not my intention.

any thoughts on the evergreen northeast & fairchester leagues?

Mid-atlantic is very competitive…can’t say the same for fairchester.

I’ve got a question for you football gurus. Our son will be a senior next year. He’s played football in the Evergreen League the past two years and got honorable mention last year.
He is unhappy at his bs and wants to transfer for his senior year. Since he came into bs as a repeat sophomore, his options are limited because he cannot play football if he comes back to his home state. Unfortunately, he struggles with school and his grades are pretty lackluster. Since y’all are saying that many boarding schools are eager to get good football players, are there any you’d recommend talking to? Coming in as a senior I think is a tough proposition. We are thinking about Cushing, for many different reasons. I’d love to hear your thoughts, and thanks in advance for any advice.
