prep school football

Depends what you mean by Jock I suppose because Hotchkiss kids are very good at things other than sports as well. I think it’s just that they take the old latin proverb: Sit mens sana in corpore sano (a healthy mind in a healthy body), to heart and excel both academically and physically.

fif makes the little joke…

Who should be Hotchkiss’ rival ?? I mean Taft is not a real rival (8-2-2 at Taft day). Andover and Exeter are pretty evenly matched, so are Deerfield (personally i think deerfield is the perfect rival for Hotchkiss) and Choate. Who do you guys think should be Hotchkiss’ rival ?

It’s Taft.

Deerfield already has Choate.

Prezomar you made a mistake you said it was field hockey’s “5th straight N.E.” it’s actually their 7th straight title.

Well Exeter’s just ballin’ at football now…we won E/A this year!!!

The Massey Ratings conclude that if Hotchkiss played Exeter the final score would be 34-6 in Hotchkiss’ favor.

Andover fares slightly better with the game ending 32-10.

The Hotchkiss-Deerfield projected score is pretty close to the real thing
(real thing was 40-20, projected results are 29-12)

The Massey ratings are real awesome I think i’m gunno spend more time playing around with them in the future. Congrats on winning E/A.

yeah. you gotta feel happy for the exeter seniors to pick up a win in football.

It’s all about soccer though haha.

According to the Blair site, the Bucs beat Exeter 36-25 on November 1st at Exeter…maybe check out Blair football (and that brand new turf field and athletic facility)…

Blair went undefeated this year and captures the new jersey state prep championship. We have numerous d-1 recruits as well as many who plan to continue their football careers as small colleges.

Hmm, yeah Blair is a fairly good team.

If Blair played Hotchkiss the final score would be 40-16 with Hotchkiss winning. Which is a good score compared to most other schools. This is according to the prestigious Massey ratings.

[HighSchoolSports.net - My School, My Teams, Our World](http://www.highschoolsports.net/defaultcal300x250.cfm?ct=matchup&timeoffset=300)

A team that had an undefeated season and defeated Exeter (more than twice its size) is more than “fairly good.”

True if we are talking strictly about boarding schools. But there was some mention of making it professionally if that is the case we have to take all schools into account. Now Hotchkiss which is quite clearly the best prep school at Football is around the 100th or so in the country in terms of schools in general… I have not checked out the latest rankings its probably gone up since they won the NE championships but still. Now to be ‘great’ as in i really want to go to that school b/c i want to play in the NFL then I would make the case that even Hotchkiss would find it a challenge to fit that definition and this is despite having the fastest kid in NE on the team. So yeah I’m sure Blair has a great team when talking about prep schools but otherwise … plus since when was Exeter the standard bearer on a good football team ?? Perhaps Andover or TP (in the past anyways) but not Exeter.

Blair would blow away most New England schools. There is no way Hotchkiss would soundly beat us. We have proven ourselves against exeter, hun, and whyoming seminary, three tough football schools. We really werent in a close game all year. Every time I went and watched they had the 2nd and 3rd stringers in by the end of the third quarter. I honestly think Blair vs Hotchkiss would be a very close game.

Prez, my man – fif has defended, and will continue to advocate for, the quality of (esp. NE) prep football. However, there are probably 100 teams in Texas, another 100 in Florida, and another 100 in California that would beat Hotchkiss.

Fun is Fun is so right, add about another 50 from georgia. About 10-15 from alabama. Hotchkiss may be good at football, but that new england area football isn’t the same as most of the good states in HS football. I watched the A/E game online, it was crap, on my team the line backers are just as fast as the safetys and the players are a lot bigger.

Idk I’ll see though, I’M still considering applying to hotchkiss if the football is that good…but I just don’t know how it would compare to the team im on now. Ill take your words for it though, but prep school football? Lol sounds kinda weak.

Hotchkiss’ Point guard (who is also the star of the football team) is the best point gaurd in his class in the COUNTRY ! Which is why he is on ESPN. It seems like our team is a DRASTIC improvement from last year but we do have many many new TALLLLLL players and some sick basketballers. I know my roomate played for his national team may get cut from the team …

Exeter should be good football team next year. A strong core of young players. We beat Andover this year.

Mpicz, what state you play in? Last year, I played football in Cali. Two years ago, our team won the sections and was ranked 110th in the nation. Now, Im at Exeter and this team could compete with teams in Cali.

Im in georgia…we have some of the best football. But Cali competes in ever sports, my cousin plays for Mater Dei. We were ranked in top 50 at a point…but I didn’t get any playing time. Now im starting running back, and SHOULD be rnaked nationally
