For anyone who attended boarding school X # of years ago, I would be very curious to hear about the relative reputations when you applied compared to the modern day rankings. I would also love to hear how the application process was different.
Thanks!
The BS that I went to (in the stone ages) was perfect for me, but wasn’t considered very selective at the time. When I would say where I was going to school, people would give me a blank stare. It is now one of the hardest schools to get into and the same question of where I went to school is greeted with astonishment and “wow, you went THERE?!”
@CindyLWho
Do you remember the rankings specifically when you applied?
I don’t think there were rankings way back then :-). It was probably considered a lower tier-2 school.
I couldn’t begin to tell you where my school was ranked. We just went there because we knew others who attended. I am not sure we even knew there was such a thing as rankings. The school worked for our family, so we went. Interestingly enough, that thinking played into the decision as to where to send our kid: it worked for our family, so she went (although it was to a different school).
