I will be attending Milton in the fall and have to read East of Eden for my summer reading. Does anyone knwo anything about what I may have to do with the book come class time?

-project?
-test on the first day?
-anything?
-discussion during the first week or so of school?

have one common subject for discussion with all other new students on day 1. No test is likely, some writing during the first month is likely but mostly it is an effort to introduce a common topic for conversation.

Does that really work? Do kids really talk about that kinds of stuff? I would think people would talk about where they are from, what they did over the summer, what they like/dislike…

when i was a freshman we had a test on east of eden about two weeks into the year. i think most classes had a test on it but it really depends on your teacher
