Preparing for rejection (Penn ED)

With the sheer volume of applications that Penn received for the Class of 2017 in the early round, it is reasonable to expect rejection, no?

With that in mind, what are some ways we can prepare ourselves for the blow of rejection? (so December 12th won’t hurt as much.)

Have an empowering, you-can-do-anything playlist and a box of your favorite snack foods at hand.

Do a CrossFit challenge workout.

100 Burpees for time or 50 push ups, 50 squats then 30 Burpees for time.

Or just go for a 5 mile run.

^ Lol, crossfit. I’d rather go to the gym and do an actual workout, thanks.

I would recommend a box of twinkies, but yeah. No.
Prepare a quiet place and box of tissues to mourn.

Should’ve made this thread more general. ^_^

Just expect to be rejected. Take it as a given, so that on the twelfth, all besides nothing that could happen is a pleasant surprise.

I’m jealous that you guys get decisions on the twelfth.

Get over it by channeling your depression into your next college app essay…

I don’t think there’s much difference from last year…I’ll be highly surprised if overall acceptance rate drops by more than 1%.

I’m prepared with two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers… Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls.

plus a dvd of “Animal House”

Im writing myself three letters - one for me to read if I get rejected, one for if im deferred, and one for if im accepted. Hopefully ill read the last one! D: im so scared.

did anybody get any emails about the date yet?

No not yet. Penn is kinda slow in handling these things

I’ll just leave this here… https://www.admissions.upenn.edu/decisions/mydecision.php

I thought the application pool increased but Penn is still admitting the same number of students. I believe the acceptance rate will decrease by at least a percent…
