I am in the process of preparing for the June 4th SAT. I am on summer vacation, so I have all day for the next 6 days to study. That said, I have completed the CollegeBoard blue book, although that was a while ago. I made a 1980 on my first SAT (670 math, 680 writing, 630 CR) and I am trying to prepare enough to make around a 2100 or higher. I have direct hits which I will be reviewing each day from now until the test. My plan with the blue book since I have already completed all the sections, is to use the answer explanations online and go through each problem, making sure I know how to do them. After this, I also have Kaplan’s 12 Practice Tests for the SAT to complete. Does anybody have any advice on how to prepare? (maybe getting a different book, any other strategies with the blue book, how good/bad the Kaplan Test book is?) Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this, any advice is appreciated.

The best strategy is just to take practice tests and review them comprehensively. I probably wouldn’t focus so much time on each individual problem in the blue book, and instead glance over the ones you weren’t sure of and move on to other practice tests. Also, if you haven’t already, look over the how to write a 12 essay in 10 days, and the how to attack the critical reading section effectively from this page http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/763933-new-feature-best-sat-prep-forum-faqs-please-read-before-posting.html Besides that, I think you have all the resources necessary to get a 2100 or higher on your next test as long as you continue to study.
