Hello
I am having some major doubts as to what degree path I should follow. In the future, I would be incredibly interested to do research, and am interested in either human behavior or bioengineering. The issues I have are that I have already spent a year at university and do not wish to change my degree too much as to have to stay years longer. The main reason for this is I have planned to move overseas with my partner in three years time when they have finished their degree, so I must have finished my bachelors in that time. I do not mind doing a postgraduate degree when I am in my new location, however I would prefer to know that the bachelors degree I have completed will be employable so that I am able to have a job to pay off at least a little bit of my student loan before I go into more study. In addition, I simply do not have money to stay at university more years and to complete more courses.
Currently, I am studying a minor in media/communications, and majoring in psychology and biology/chemistry/physiology. Iām not decided between biology or chemistry or physiology, or media or communications as I am still in my first year of university and these courses all have the same stage one requirements, thus next year I can take any path I choose. The reason i took media was because I am incredibly interested in human behavior and how it has adapted since the arrival of social media, however I am not sure if this a field of research that will be plausible to dedicate my life to. So, I have recently been thinking that I would like to go into bioengineering, as gene technology was an area I was very competent in in high school and interested me greatly.
However, am I able to get into gene technology without a bachelors in engineering? If so, what would I need to study? Can I get away with getting into such a course with what I am already on the road to completing?
Thank you
