Prerequisites from High School?

Hi all.

Basically, Yale is my dream school. Global affairs is my dream major.

From Yale’s website:

Prerequisites Prior to application, potential majors must complete introductory microeconomics (ECON 108, 110, or 115) and macroeconomics (ECON 111 or 116).

Does this mean potential majors have to have taken micro and macro while still in high school, or does that apply to the college course load before officially declaring a major?

I’m a high school junior, by the way, who has not taken either one of these courses.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I would say it’s the latter.

It clearly means that you need to complete those courses at Yale before you apply to the major (probably in your sophomore year?) - that’s why they give the specific course numbers. You couldn’t complete Yale’s Econ 108 in high school, could you?
