Sorry… very new to this process. The deadline for registering for auditions is 12/1. Do you need to have your prescreens in and approved before 12/1? I assume if I upload a prescreen on 12/1 they will not have time to review it and allow him to register on the same day, assuming he passes ?. How much in advance do you need to have the prescreen uploaded? I initially thought 12/1 was the date the actual prescreen was due so I am confused
Does it say prescreens are due Dec 1? How are prescreens submitted? There must be a due date somewhere. If so, I’m guessing they won’t evaluate prescreens until after that date and let you know if you are cleared to audition or not. Most places my son is applying to had us request an audition date and upload prescreens often using the same application. He did have some prescreens that were due Nov 1.
You can e-mail or call music admissions directly in many cases to clarify too.
Usually the deadline for pre-screen is the deadline for pre-screen submission solely. You must submit by that date. I have never heard of anything different. The review is then done after that date. You would hear that you passed the pre-screen sometime in Dec (general mid to late month) or well into January.
Simply submit your pre-screen by that date (and note that electronic submissions can fail or be problematic so best not to wait until 12/1 if possible). If the wording seems confusing to you on a particular school’s site, as said above, call them.
Typically, from personal experience, the prescreen submission deadline is solely for that - you need to upload your videos before that period. Typically, colleges spend the following 3-4 weeks in listening to all submitted prescreens and scheduling auditions beginning in early January (earliest auditions are around the 7th of January usually).
Good Luck !
