<p>President Obama announced his picks on Tuesday to fill two long-vacant seats on the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors.</p>
<p>Obama tapped Jerome Powell [Princeton 75], a visiting scholar at the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington who served in the George H.W. Bush administration, and Jeremy Stein [Princeton 83], a Harvard economist and former adviser to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.</p>
<p>“I am grateful that these individuals have agreed to serve their nation at this important time for our economy,” Obama said in a statement. “Their distinguished backgrounds and experience coupled with their impressive knowledge of economic and monetary policy make them tremendously qualified to serve in these important roles.”</p>
