Am I allowed to apply for the president’s scholarship program at GT and apply early decision at another school? I’m inclined to believe that I can, since GT is non-binding, but I’d like to know so that I don’t void my first choice school’s application.
Thanks!

P.S. Is GT a safe campus? I’ve heard that the atmosphere isn’t the best… opinions?

Its in the middle of downtown Atlanta, so its obviously not going to be the safest place in the world. I haven’t heard anything really bad about it though.

De jure, Georgia Tech’s October 31 isn’t even early action, and it’s certainly not early decision. They explicitly say that it isn’t an early action plan. But, if you look at what happens in December, it is de facto early action.

I think they may have done this such that you could apply ED / SCEA to other schools without MUCH trouble.

The campus is safe, and so are the surroundings. The Stinger Shuttle comes to pick students up after dark and drops them off in front of their dorm, if requested and It is for free. There are plenty of call boxes, and while crime is a given fact of any major city, but Tech is very safe. It’s pretty much in midtown Atlanta, pretty campus and across the bridge over highway is new stores, new buildings, and a great place to hang out.
The interior of campus is totally secure by GT Police, guard the campus and about a mile around the campus. Unlike most campus police, they have actual authority to arrest, under Atlanta City and Fulton County jurisdictions, on or off campus. The campus and area surrounding are patrolled well.

President’s scholarship need postmarked by October 31.
