So earlier this week, I submitted a press release assignment for my (very laidback) pass/fail course. We were provided with 6 examples of press releases, and in these releases (and in general) citations are not provided at the end. Writing references was not even discussed in any other docs we received for the assignment (instructions, rubric, syllabus, etc.). In the faux press release, I played the role of a tennis racket manufacturer, so I had to obtain information online about tennis racket materials (stuff I can’t bs), and I even quoted a tennis racket maker (I did write his name though in the quotation). Yet, I never included any citations. I’m 60% sure my instructors do not even care about citations, but I am worried that they might care because this was the only written assignment we had this semester. Do you think I will get written up for academic dishonesty, or am I worrying over nothing? Is it too late to email my TA and notify her, or is it not a big deal? Thank you!
