<p>I really REALLY want to go to UCSD but I was also admitted to Rice. The only thing that attracts me about rice is its greater name recognition. How does prestige factor into med school admissions?</p>
<p>doesn’t affect it much, but pick the college you will like more (social) and where you can get a better gpa (academic). Honestly, ive heard that SD is uber competetive, but im not sure about rice.</p>

<p>Rice, with its grade inflation, might make it easier to get a high GPA. But I am also convinced that I’ll be only average at Rice but I’ll prolly be a top student at SD. Since most science classes are graded on curves, my being a top student will help me. So I guess in terms of academics, SD and Rice and pretty much equal.</p>
