Prestige of first tier school (mid-level) v. Prestige of hon college at a third tier?

<p>I know prestige isnt the only thing to look at, and believe there are plenty of other things i am putting into consideration, but i was wondering in this scenario which is better regarding Strictly presitige and academic reputation:</p>

<p>schools like the University of Delaware and Virginia Tech (both similarly ranked) or the Honors College at a third tier like George Mason University.</p>

<p>Also I know that GMU has built up its reputation over the past few years. How long do you think it’ll be until they’re a first or second tier college?</p>

<p>I’d go with Va Tech. Honors programs are great… but i definitely dont think honors at g mason is as good as the other 2.</p>
