Could someone enlighten me on the “prestige” of Indiana?

Can you be more specific? Is IU as prestigious as an Ivy League? No. Is it well known and well respected in many places–Yes. Various schools and departments are consistently ranked among the best in the country–School of Music, School of Education, Kelley School of Business, and many other majors in the COAS. Decades ago I got my first job as a teacher specifically because the principal (in another state) knew the value of an IU education. My sister-in-law, much younger than me, has also found teaching jobs in several states because IU is well known for it’s school of Education. Principals have told her she was hired because of her IU degree.
