Presumably, what might the hardest course be in my Physics degree?

Just curious.

Thermal, Electromagnetic, Solid State, and Particle

What is thermal physics?

An advanced physics version of thermodynamics us lowly engineers take except they study it at the molecular level. So actually, it’s pretty different. It’s a tough subject.

I see. It seems so…impractical…

Well, this is a pure science degree. Some of the courses should be a prerequisites for advanced and theoretical physics.

If a course along the lines of ‘intro to theoretical physics’ was offered at your school, I think that would be the hardest. I took that class, a 60% turned out to be an A. :D

Haha. Wow. The UH graduate courses look fun!

http://www.uh.edu/grad_catalog/nsm/phys_courses.html

It depends on who you are and who your profs are.

These make the physics program at my school look like a joke. Good thing I’m only going for a physics minor and not waisting my time with a weak curriculum. Particle physics is something I’d like to take but my university certainly doesn’t have that. Its been a struggle to get them to offer an intro to nuclear physics course. Anyways, I couldn’t tell you what the most difficult course is. It would depend much on the exact instructor and content.

Physics grad students tell me the hardest topic (at the graduate level, at least) is electrodynamics.

Some more valid points. It’s good to hear that the UH Physics undergraduate program appears to be decent.
