Pretty horrible ACT and pretty average GPA...

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>As you’ll notice, I suck at taking standardized tests and that’s why my test scores suck so badly. I’ve taken the ACT 4 times and the SAT once and have never been happy with my scores. I don’t know what it is about these standardized tests, but I always leave the test feeling like I did quite alright but then end up getting shafted with my score. Anyways, I think I’ve come up with a list of places to apply to this year so if you could give me some chances it’d be greatly appreciated!!!</p>

<p>During the second half of my Freshman year and virtually all of my sophomore year, I had been diagnosed with leukemia and had been under intensive treatment on a close to daily basis. I missed school, on average, 2-3 times per week and many teachers were not understanding of this. I received many C’s during those two years and my low GPA is partially explained by this. I no longer miss school often for this because I’m close to remission.</p>

<p>My school doesn’t have “honors” classes; we only have AP so everything else I took was regular. </p>

<p>Played Football Fresh/Soph. Years… didn’t make the varsity team Junior year because of my health so I quit and got a job</p>

<p>Worked Part Time at Chuck E Cheese’s as an Arcade Attendent approximately 25 hrs/wk</p>

<p>Varsity Swim Team Freshman-Senior Years, have been elected as co-captain for upcoming season</p>

<p>I was inducted into NHS</p>

<p>I want to apply to the following schools, in order of preference:

  1. University of Notre Dame (both my parents went there)
  2. University of South Carolina
  3. Indiana University-Bloomington
  4. University of Indianapolis
  5. Bradley University
  6. Purdue University
  7. Ohio State University</p>
