Previous Acceptance vs. Gap Semester

I was accepted into several schools at the end of my senior year of high school, but some circumstances in my life led me to not enroll at any of them for the fal 2018 semester. I want to enroll for the spring 2019 semester, but I don’t know how to go about this. Should I contact an admissions officer from the school I wish to attend? Or should I just reapply? Please help.

Yes you should contact the schools. You may want to wait until the fall again. Coming in halfway through the year may mean you lose any potential scholarships. Talk to the schools to find out what is best.

it is up to the schools. Every college offers more acceptances than they have room for knowing that some/many students will not enroll. The fraction that do is called yield. The point being that their planning was based on not everyone accepting and they may not have room for students who later change their mind. Your circumstance is a bit unique in that you did not enroll in college; you’ll have to contact admissions at each school and see what they say.

I take it by the careful wording of “some circumstances in my life led me to not enroll at any of them” that you did not enroll at any college at all and not just the ones you are talking about? If you enrolled at some other college and now want to do a fresh start that won’t work; there is a national student database that tracks enrollment.
