Previous university enrollment, no credit?

As an international and sort of non-traditional applicant (21 years old), I’m having a bit of a dilemma about how to present what I’ve been doing since graduation.

After high school, I’ve been studying music at a pre-college (but post-secondary) level for two years. This fall I began studying music at a Swedish university, but quit after three weeks. I’m planning to write a short list of these things (like a tiny resume) in the Additional Information section off the Common App.

What worries me is that some colleges seem to require that you have not previously studied at university (Princeton is a case in point, although I’m not applying there). If I write that I matriculated at a university (even though I didn’t receive any credit), I worry that this might make me ineligible. I’m applying to Amherst, Connecticut College, Dartmouth, Middlebury, Reed, Wesleyan, Williams and Yale. I recall reading about similar policies in at least one of these, but I can’t find it. :(

If I leave it out entirely, it may seem as though I’ve just been slacking off for the past six months. I could write that I was admitted but turned it down, but this seems like a bit of a non-accomplishment. Any ideas?

To begin with, is anyone familiar with the policies regarding previous university studies at any of the above schools? If it’s okay, then I don’t really have anything to worry about, I guess.
