I watched a video where mother compared Magna Tiles vs Picasso tiles. She said they were both basically the same so get whatever is cheaper. She said personally she liked the Picasso tiles (more shapes). The Picasso tiles are MUCH cheaper when I looked them up. (They have both larger tiles similar to Magna tiles and also mini tiles so watch what you order!)

I also have the Picasso tiles at my house; I must have seen the same video 3 years ago. The 100 piece set is currently around $30 as it has a 30% off. That is a great deal!

Well, thanks to this thread, some lucky kiddo in my life is getting a box of picasso tiles.

lol. We get to play Quixx…

We got the grands magna tiles, back in the day.
If anyone is still looking for a prime deal for kids, today is the last day oftentimes sale on kiwico boxes that are age appropriate and delivered to the child every one or 2 mos (depending on the age of the child). Thank you to @romanigypsyeyes for recommending this product many moons ago. They are well made and educational as well as fun. I’ve gotten the subscriptions (not the auto renew- watch for that) for all the grandkids, other kids and have recommended it to friends. Highly recommend. And if you order through the Rakuten link you get 10%back.

The $279 for the Apple Watch 9 is still live, and you all are tempting me. I’ve never owned one. Tell me why you love it, or why you’d pass!

I have an Apple Watch 8 that I was lukewarm about getting but enjoy because it lets me see texts and also allows me to answer phone calls when my phone is nearby but not handy. I can also push the button and send a text or call someone on contacts list without having to get my phone out. I can discretely know if I get an important text without having to check phone.

Oh yeah, my watch also provides oxygen saturation levels and heart rates. The 9 doesn’t do O2 stats due to a lawsuit. For most people, they won’t even miss that feature.

The watch has all sorts or health features if you want that. I was just playing with the heart rate feature, and could make go up or down by a few beats depending on what I was actively thinking about! It also called 911 when I fainted (as did other folks at the event I was attending!) It is connected to my phone and ipad so do get alerts, texts, calls (I don’t have a separate phone feature, its just a handoff) but I can answer a call on my watch if I am away from my phone (Like on a different floor of the house). I also monitor exercise and it shows heart rate if you want to keep it in a zone.

Reasons I love my iwatch (currently on my second):
Probably five times a day I use my iwatch to find my misplaced iPhone with a tap.
I like that it tracks my sleep and my workouts (tennis, walking, etc…).
If you are doing something else and you can get a text or phone call, with a quick glance you know if it is important or can be ignored.

finding your phone is a godsend!

Seriously, finding my phone might be enough to tip me over. So, then here are my heading-down-the-rabbit-trail follow up questions:

  1. Apple Watch 9 ($279) vs SE 2($199)?
  2. Should I see if I can hunt down an older 9 with an 02 sensor? (I like that, although it’s probably not necessary.)

Don’t know the difference between the phones. I gave my 6 to my DIL (doubt she ever uses it!) when I got the 7. I think my DH’s is an 8, and its supposed to have better “waterproof” (water resistant) properties. He wears it when he swims laps!

I see there is a Nespresso machine on sale.
Can anyone speak to the differences between the original Nespresso and the Vertuo? My husband just mentioned his coffee maker isn’t doing well and he might want a Nespresso.

I have the vertuo. The one I have holds a good amount of water so you don’t have to refill it all that often (well I don’t use it all that often) but it works well. It seems to have changed the setting for how full the cup gets and I’ve tried the resetting feature. Maybe I did it wrong, I will retry. But overall I like it and the posts are easy to use and recycle.

I would get the 9, but I can’t give you a good reason for that opinion.

Vertuo pods are larger and shaped differently than the original pods. Here is what the maker says:

I have a Vertuo nespresso coffee maker.

It makes coffee of different volumes, will make an espresso and also a 8oz cup. The double espresso pods are nice.

The original makes one size of expresso. Around an oz.

I’m happy to learn about MagnaTiles on this thread. They look like a great birthday gift for older GD. I like that they’re made in the Philippines instead of the PRC, too (according to Amazon - hope that’s correct.) I haven’t ordered anything big so far; the MagnaTiles will be my first larger order this week.

I wanted to report back that I received my new Kindle (which I guess is not a Paperwhite). It is a little smaller than my Paperwhite it is replacing, but so far I really like it!
