tristan101, did Yale not work out?

Have you guys seen Stanford’s SCEA thread? It has almost 5,000 posts. In fact, we had a little competition with Yale to see who could post more. We started with 2,000 fewer posts and overtook them in one night. It was epic. Too bad I still got rejected :)

However, I’m working on my Princeton application now. How long was your supplemental essay? Like, word count, preferably?

@ portugueseninja

“I have a question, and I don’t mean this at all to come across as *****y so sorry if it does! If Yale isn’t your top choice, why have you applied SCEA? Is it to increase your chances of getting in? Or just because you can? I’m just curious.”

Well, Yale is my second choice-- a very close second choice I should add. I wanted to apply somewhere early, and Yale’s program isn’t binding. Like I said, if Princeton still had an early action/decision application, I definitely would have done that. But since it doesn’t, why wouldn’t I apply at Yale SCEA? (I was deffered by the way. I’m just glad that I wasn’t rejected. Now I can go on living in my delusion of going to Princeton or Yale.)

So for Naviance, it says that Princeton has a 12/15 “priority deadline” and I just worked my butt off to get my supplement done in time (not a minute to spare lol). Does anyone else know if getting your app in before the priority deadline has actual benefits, or did I just waste my first night of winter break?

P-ton & Stanford for me. =DDD I’m submitting my app next week(Iknow it’s a bit late, but Istuff is still in the works!) Love the school. I’ve visited twice & can’t get enough of it

@Sg i think it’s to keep the app flow. If everyone submitted their app 12/31 @ 11:55 it’ll screw w. their system & they’ll probably get a million complaints that some people couldn;t submit it but they won’t eb able ot do anything about it etc.

sorry about the sloppy grammar

Lets go princeton! Time to apply to the best college in the world!

Thanks for the replies, I was just curious about that :)

My Princeton supplement essay was really short, it was less than 300 words.

Oh and I’m not really Portuguese haha! I’m boring English.

So how long did u guys write the summer experience essay?

I still haven’t figured out what I’m going to write in my Pton essay, I am seriously stuck on this one V_V I want to use a quote from a book I’ve read cause the provided ones are just not giving me any inspiration, but now I can’t even decide which book to use!

I’m applying to Princeton 2014 regular decision. I’m also applying to Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and Penn.

I guess it’s going to be a long, long wait through the early months of next year…

No, I got deferred.
and it’s still quite depressing.

For my summer essay, I just wrote about two paragraphs explaining what I did but not too in detail.

And I took one of the prompts from P-ton’s supplement and wrote my second essay for all of my schools on that
So that saved a lot of work, which is always good.

so did everyone finish there applications! I turned mine in yesterday, this will be the longest wait ever. so wat did u guys apply for?

Yay, more P-ton hopefuls! :] I applied for International Affairs at Woody Woo.

Yup, four months is a loonnngg time.

But no worries, if it’s meant to be, it will happen; if it’s not, then no matter how much we want it, it won’t.

Yesterday was so anticlimactic. I was SO excited and counting down for months. Now I have to repeat that whole process again. It’s painful.

All of my apps have been in since mid-November so I don’t even have them to distract me.

What’s Princeton good at? Is it not good at anything?

I’m confused. Are you asking about areas in which Princeton is weak?

Hey guys!!!

I’m starting to get really anxious about Princeton! Watching everyone else begin to get admitted early is soo nerve-wracking! Why oh why can’t Princeton have ED???

do i even have a chance?!?

Wouldn’t it be harder for u bc they look for geographic diversity and I bet there r a ton of apps from new jersey so I think it would be harder for u unless u have some stellar hooks
