Got deferred too… Oh well! Congratulations to the people who were accepted, and good luck to everybody who is going to be sticking it out for round 2!

@zaralee My question too. I’m excited to meet other admits!

One of the 2,918 applicants who was deferred. sigh I’m honestly extremely surprised that you were deferred, @Ambitious19 ! You seem extremely, extremely qualified and unique.

I’m too swamped with finals studying at the moment, but I guess I’ll post stats later. Kind of regretting not applying ED to Penn or Duke. Why is Princeton so beautiful but unattainable?

Deferred, and I agree with this article wholeheartedly. I’d rather be rejected than cling to false hope.

http://dailyprincetonian.com/opinion/2014/01/to-be-or-not-to-be-admitted/

@Ambitious19 It is hard to take. Deferred here as well.

I was also deferred.

Despite being deferred, I feel a bit liberated. The anticipation morphed into anxiety and really took its toll. Congrats to those who got in!

BTW, for the benefit of next year’s class, I got the financial aid email too. Both times. No correlation.

Deferred. this sucks. Trusting God that Princeton is part of his plan for my life, so we’ll see for RD!

<a href=“Princeton offers early action admission to 767 students for Class of 2019”>Princeton offers early action admission to 767 students for Class of 2019;

And that’s the official announcement to the rest of the world

Got accepted. Score is like those who got accepted and deferred. For those who got deferred, keep going as today is not end of your application yet. Good luck.

BTW, for the benefit of next year’s class, my counselor got Princeton Admission call about my first marking period grade at early December. And last year same time, my sibling’s counselor got Princeton Admission call about AP score (my sibling now is Princeton freshman). Both times. Seems like Princeton call is a good sign.

Same. My counselor got a call early december about sending in first quarter grades. Turns out I was accepted.

Got the financial aid email, deferred. Gotta keep chugging along

For the benefit of next year’s class, getting financial aid email may have no correlation. But getting call about grades may be a good sign.

Do deferred applicants have the same chance as RD applicants? Do they actually throw us back in the pool, or are they just cheating us? Because I think deferees have a lower rate of acceptance than regular pool applicants…

I got the call about grades. At the time, I had a B in chemistry. Whoops. That might’ve been what tipped the decision out of my favor. I have an A now so it’s all good.

i didn’t get called about grades and still got accepted. I honestly think there are no correlations with anything hahaha

@zaralee @kestrel24

In fact, there is. The fb group was made on Sunday. It mostly has current students in there right now. You should definitely join and meet us tho lol.

To everyone else, don’t feel too bad about not getting accepted. There’s still RD, and don’t let one college decision bring you down. There’s too many opportunities out there even if you don’t get in. You never actually know whether or not something is good or bad until later. Maybe, a deferral now means that you get RD and a huge choice of schools you might not have felt like applying to if you were admitted. Maybe you will fall in love with another school. I know I fell in love with some schools I never really thought much about until senior year. Really tho, good luck with everything.

PS I love that one Pokemunluv dude or w/e in the results page. Applied to pton scea and other places; ya right. If it’s true, then that was against the rules anyway and a rejection was coming if the schools compared acceptances.

This comment wasn’t pertinent to this particular thread’s discussion, I meant to post it in the “deferred applicants” thread. I’m unsure how to delete stuff from CC, or if it’s even possible to delete stuff from CC. But I do have one weapon: Edit. This comment shall live on forever as evidence of my mistake. Peace.

Deferred. But why do those who are deferred feel sad? I am happy that the decision was not an outright no We still have a chance!
