Princeton Admission

I wanted to ask whether Princeton accept students with a 1860 SAT score and GPA of 3.6, also taking three AP’s physics, calculus, and comparative studies and politics. I am an international student from Egypt. Can they accept me in Princeton Mechanical Engineering.

Who knows?? If there is something interesting and outstanding in your application (like maybe your difficult life story), then they might well admit you!

no sorry.

Princeton is among the few schools that practice need blind admissions and will grant full cost waiver for demonstrated need to international applicants. Thus, the international pool to Princeton is among the world’s most competitive pool extant. A 3.6GPA and sub 2000 SAT is completely unrealistic for Princeton.

However, if you are a full pay student, there are many colleges that would welcome you. Go to this forum for suggestions:

Yeah, even if you were an athletic-recruit Native American, the odds would still be significantly against you. At the end of the day, I think you still have to show that you are capable of passing Princeton classes. Remember that unlike Yale and Harvard, there is no grade inflation at Princeton.

I feel like you have nothing to lose by applying! If it is your dream school, then go for it! Even though your stats are lower than Princeton’s average, you never know what might happen. Try to wright some fantastic essays :)

@Mitcho: You posted the same question on the Harvard thread and the answers are going to be same here as they are there: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/1503595-harvard-admission.html.

It’s not good to give others false hopes, people; it actually harms them, so I’m going to be candid here. Mitcho, unless you are an Olympics athlete, have founded a large corporation, are the child of a super rich family who can donate several million dollars, got a gold medal in one or more international science olympiads…etc (you get what i mean), you aren’t getting in. Period.
Judging from your stats, you (1) better indicate you can pay on your common app and (2) should aim at state universities, not ivy-league level ones.
It will depend on other things too, of course, but this should give you a general idea.
