<p>Wow… I’ve been trying to fill out the Princeton application and it is really irritating me. To those who applied ED or have already filled out the application, I have a couple of questions?</p>

<li> How did you organize the academic awards section? The space is so ridiculously tiny. I’ll definitely add a supplemental resume, but I still have to put something in the space. It’s even smaller than the common app space!</li>
<li> How many words was the summer “essay”? How did you guys organize this section as well.</li>
<li> Did you add explanation for favourites?</li>

<li>I did the best I could and then sent an activies/awards resume with the application.</li>
<li>Mine was 275, I think. I attached a separate sheet of paper so I could include picture scans.</li>
<li>I did on a couple of them (only the ones that really merited an explanation).</li>
</ol>

<p>Note: I did the written app so I could fit things in all the right places. The Princeton app has been by far my favorite.</p>

<li>Mine was 290 words, and organized like an actual essay rather than a list.</li>
<li>I did, on what inspires me, on my favorite news source, and on my favorite souvenir (something like that)</li>

<li>Didn’t find it a problem - which makes me feel really bad, reading about all of you need who need extra space.<br></li>
<li>About 300, proper essay just highlighting the one or two important things and what I thought about them (read somewhere that’s how you’re supposed to do it) rather than list.</li>
<li>No (though I was so blatantly pushing the Princeton agenda I blush now to think of it - e.g. favourite momento: stuffed tiger recieved at graduation (which is really cute, but still…))</li>

<p>could u all give me a number on the amount of awards u added? My summer essay is only 100 words! Does anybody wanna read it? and tell me if it’s vague. I sent the exact same thing to Yale, so I’m kinda confused.</p>

<p>I listed two awards, National Merit Commended & AP Scholar with Distinction.</p>

<p>alright, this is too difficult. I think I’m gonna use the common-app,because I think I did that one well. Does anybody think that this is a bad idea? I know that Princeton claims it doesnt’ discriminate, but is there a subtle discrimination. or does it make absolutely no difference?</p>

<p>I had about eleven but they were are all in a class of twenty kids—so it wasn’t exactly a Nobel prize-level honor, lol.</p>

<p>davidrune, don’t use the common app! you will probably be accepted regardless (remember, i labeled you the auto-admit at yale?) but i just think its awfully strange to use the common app when the school has a beautiful online one made available </p>

<p>Use the common if it is really your stronger/better organized application. No point in doing a half-baked job using their application - that’s not going to impress anybody. Also, I doubt they’ll discriminate against those who choose to use it: it may be Princeton’s first year using the common, but they seem to really be promoting it.</p>

<li><p>I printed a half-sheet with the academic honors listed (most were significant so I couldn’t choose), 6 of them, and taped it to the place given for listing the awards (only on the top, so it can be lifted)</p></li>

<p>Do the commonapp if you want to do it. The press release/news article on the Princeton site and the Prince’s site said the administration was thrilled to have received so many applications from all of the application choices they offer. So according to them, they really don’t care which one you use as long as you apply. ;)</p>

<p>ngohuongly88- Princeton is one of my top choices as well. As well, I still haven’t received any financial aid from Yale, so I would like to compare.</p>

<p>davidrune, nice to see you over here. Princeton always was going to be a choice even if I didn’t get accepted early (still crossing my fingers for Yale).</p>

<p>I guess that it would be best to do Princeton’s application (although this is annoying). For those who have done both, how different is it (better/worse, more/less detailed, etc.)?</p>

<p>For the activity section, what about attaching the common-app’s activity section as the extra resume. They know that format, and it contains much more space. It would also show that while you are applying to more than Princeton (it would be stupid otherwise, unless you have been accepted early like davidrune) you are taking the time to personally fill out its application.</p>

<p>Is anyone else getting annoyed that Princeton has its own recommendation forms. It’s already enough having my teachers create so many letters to different schools, but when they all require different forms, it is rude to the teachers. However, I love Princeton so I guess its OK (if it was a lower level school, then I would be mad).</p>
