My kid had an alumni interview. Went great. Good sign? Fingers crossed…
Usually Princeton admission sent email if alumni can interview you, right?

Barring someone saying something extremely inappropriate, Interviews don’t affect admissions one way or the other.

“[the interview] will depend on the availability of alumni in your area. Our dedicated alumni do manage to contact the vast majority of our applicants every year; however, if you do not receive an interview for any reason, it will not put you at a disadvantage since the interview is optional.”
from what im aware of, princeton doesn’t do interviews based on application, just on availability. if youre from an area that has a princeton alum, then youre more likely to get an interview. for example, i haven’t gotten an interview since im from a rural area.
Interesting - thanks - especially since it was virtual and not in person, so location didn’t seem to be a defining criteria.
I’m still quite overwhelmed right now, so please excuse me if this comes out a bit scattered.
I just received an alumni interview notification from Princeton less than half an hour ago, and I’m incredibly excited (and panicking a lot). For context, I am a non-traditional, international applicant. My assigned interviewer is a CEO and a prominent figure in my country, from a very prominent and influential family.
For those who have gone through the process or are familiar with it, what should I expect from the interview, and do you have any tips for preparing?

Be yourself. Talk about the things you genuinely love. Princeton interviews are casual, get to know you conversations and have virtually no bearing on admissions decisions.

I would think that this message is shown for everyone based on trends from other colleges. They tend to have a static page depicted for everyone… Good luck!

i can access it too, which can mean good if we’re lucky or bad if everyone else sees it. what time did Princeton sent out the email? mine came in the morning and i heard it came in batches but who knows

mine was 11:15 AM Central Time. would 5 minutes make a difference
