@MissAnthropy Thanks for the advice. Here is one great read… what to do while we wait for college admissions…

Anyone else have an outrageously difficult time getting work done for school while awaiting this decision? I had all day yesterday but I took my family up on the offer to go out and spend the day together even though I knew I should decline and stay home to do homework, just so that I wouldn’t have to sit home and agonize over Princeton. I feel like waiting is making me slack, so I either need to get in so that I don’t have to worry so much about getting straight A+s, or channel my disappointment towards the rejection to stay motivated to do well in school and complete my other applications (the more likely scenario).
@Pumpkin99 yeah same here
I can’t stop visiting this site now… It’s unhealthy lol
I check this thread wayyyyy too often.
@MissAnthropy sameeee. we’re all just playing the game.
Did anyone’s counselor receive an email asking for senior year on Friday from Princeton?? What could this mean?
@oplurobha What do you mean?
@oplurobha did you send in first quarter grades?
My counselor received an email on Friday for first quarter grades, and she sent them. But what could this mean? Less than a week from admission decisions and they are still deciding??
@oplurobha I would take that as a sign you’re under serious consideration.
99.99% sure this means nothing, but did anyone else’s Upload Materials section of the portal move down to the bottom?
Mine was at the top a week ago.
@IvyKid1 Mine did, as well.
Mine did as well, @IvyKid1
On my application portal, it only shows two teacher recommendations despite uploading more, is this the same with any of you guys?
Yep, the portal only shows what’s mandatory so it doesn’t show additional recs.
My counselor never sent in first quarter grades because they were exactly the same as my past grades have been, just one extra AP class (all A+s and one A in molecular genetics), should I send them in tomorrow or not bother? As far as I know no one emailed my counselor about it, but we rarely talk. Does that mean that they have already moved my application to the ‘rejected’ pile? Lol
Even when I don’t comment I check this stupid thread like every hour at least. I’m epically wasting time.
@Pumpkin99 The fact that they’re the same as your grades before doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t send them, right? For all Princeton knows, you could’ve gotten straight Bs first quarter. It seems like your grades are really good so why would you ever even consider not sending them?
@Pumpkin99 yup, same. I wasn’t asked to send it and I was wondering if I should send em over. I decided not to since they weren’t so different from junior grades
From what I’ve read, we can’t really look into that email too much. Not getting the mail could mean (1) you’re straight up rejected, (2) your junior grades are consistent enough to not require further investigation, (3) you’re already deferred so they just want our mid year report later on.
Don’t worry, and hope for (2), we’ll find out in a few days.
Idk why I keep checking this thread lol dammit samc24 get yourself together
@gmanhax at my school there are only a couple counselors for all 2000 students, so it’s like pulling teeth trying to get anything to happen in the guidance department. I’ve tried to schedule a couple of appointments with my counselor about my applications, but she is never there when I am. I didn’t realize it might be important to send them until reading through this thread, but I figured it was too late. But as I said, my grades are exactly the same, so should I try to contact the head of guidance to try to get him to get my counselor to send my grades?
