My friend just got into Caltech (he’s super smart) and I’m sitting here with 0 acceptances yay! Does anyone else feel inadequate!?!? (Hahahhaa ik trying to laugh instead of cry)
@mackyg ayyyye sounds like me too! Most of my friends got into Penn. I’ve got 0 acceptances, but then again, Princeton is the first school I hear from… hopefully the last…
@Pumpkin99 Ahh, I see… at this point I don’t think it makes sense to send them in. Most, if not all decisions have been finalized at this point, and if you’ve been strong academically throughout high school I doubt they’ll suspect anything. IMO, the quarter report only really matters for kids with a strong upward trend in their GPA.
@gmanhax yeah I’ve never even gotten an A- so for them to suspect straight Bs after 3 years of almost straight A+s would be kinda weird. Hopefully that’s not what will have hurt me.
Keep in mind that if Princeton wanted your first quarter grades they would have asked. General rule of thumb: if they don’t ask, don’t send. It will just delay your decision and it takes them extra time to process transcripts send via email.
Quick question about the admitted.princeton.edu link: Is it supposed to say “Congratulations!”, but if you try and log in, it redirects you to the applicant portal login page, and once you enter your information, it takes you back to the “Congratulations!” page, except a banner near the top of the page says “Unable to login”?
@misad1892 Yep! That’s what happened to me at least.
What is this orange tiger thing on the portal that people have been talking about if you’re accepted?
how do you know if they asked? would you be notified or only your counselor?
@GettingRekt your counselor would receive an email and he/she would notify you
@GoTigsSAFRG21 I think the first thing you see if you’re accepted is a tiger
I wish I didn’t know that
I have a feeling I’m going to bomb all my finals because I’m just constantly checking this thread instead of studying…
@samc24 would they necessarily notify you? or? i’m not terribly worried because my transcript through high school has been fine but this year there was a complication with one of my grades so it looks like i have a D even though it’s not…
@GettingRekt I remember reading the exact email pton sends to counselors asking for senior grades, but I’ve read so many cc threads I forget which it was
The email said that even though they’re asking for it, it’s still optional, but recommended. They tell the counselor to ask the student and then send them over if you want.
As long as your counselor doesn’t act alone and send it without asking you, you should be fine. I’d say contact her and ask her about any email.
Guys remember that about 82% of us will not get in Dec.15th, so do not fail finals just because you are anxious about decisions day. Work as hard as you can to get through these last 4 days. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
@sozzle lol same boat
Am I thenonly one that doesn’t take finals till January lol but we start in September and some of my IB projects like IOC’s count as exams
@mackyg my school has finals in January, too—just call them midyear exams. LOL.
thought I might as well post since I’ve been religiously checking this thread for months now. can’t believe decisions come out Thursday…seems surreal.
When you get asked to send more grades what kind of system are you on in your school? My school does semesters and we dont have anything called quarters so i was wondering if maybe thats why people are asked because they have finalized grades before people who are on semester schedules. Idk just a thought
