Does anyone here whose counselor got an email asking for quarter grades remember around when they did so?
serendipity
A lot but maybe not as much as you would assume.
I said “phenomenon”
@GettingRekt Ok so my CBO’s guidance counselor used to work at Columbia and Stanford and NYU and my other CBO guidance counselor worked at Colgate and they all said that test scores were towards the bottom for their admissions departments. They matter, but not as much as how hard you tried in school (relative academic rigor and success) and your essays and recommendations. I would imagine that it would be similar at Princeton.
What did people put for the fav source of inspiration?
@danieljg511 Okay that sounds all right. I was just wondering i guess in comparison to the importance of SAT/ACT scores (without the essay part). i understand there’s some cutoff system(?) used with the SAT/ACT Scores excluding the essay part?
Also, is academic rigor simply measured on the classes you took and the grades that you achieved in them?
And how important are the four main hooks? (e.g. recruit, URM, super donors, legacies)
I’m realizing now how many questions I have that I probably should have asked sooner…oh well, better than never amirite
I feel like as long as your test scores aren’t horribly low then you still have just as good of a chance as anyone else… I really think they focus more on academic rigor and essays
@GettingRekt I think they would rather see you pushing yourself in APs, IBs, Dual enrollments, etc and getting A-s than A+s in honors
